Obituary for Sandra Kidd Rash

Services for Sandra Kidd Rash of Athens are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, Athens, with Rev. Joe Warren and Rev. Jason Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Colfax Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mrs. Rash passed away October 5, 2017, in Tyler. She was born in Van to Gordon & Marie Laverents Kidd. Sandra spent her early years in Van, and many years in Arlington before moving to Athens 4 years ago. She worked for Higher Power Aviation for 12 years and was a member of the Literary Club, Lone Star Republican Women and BSF. She taught over 20 years for New London ISD and Dallas ISD combined. Sandra was a member of First United Methodist Church of Athens and regularly attended bible study there. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Rash of Athens; two brothers, Paul Gordon Kidd and wife Pat of Arlington and Scott Russell Kidd and wife Dee of Austin; sister, Marsha Fincher and husband Kelly of Greenville; two brothers-in-law, Max Ray Allen of Flower Mound and John Terry Rash of Grand Saline; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be James Jenkins, Jim Schatzsall, Mike Babler, Terry Allen, Bobby Glass and Doug Blythe.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Kellam, Jack Dale Mayo, Buddy Yarbrough and Gene Golman.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Athens, 225 Lover’s Lane, Athens, TX 75751.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m., Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Athens.
