Obituary for Henry Thompson

Services for Henry Thompson, 73, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, at Midlothian Cemetery, Midlothian, with Bro. Roy Brashear officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson passed away suddenly July 14, 2016, in Quitman. He was born November 7, 1942 in Ooltewah, TN, to Carl & Juanita Young Thompson. He lived most of his life in Midlothian and moved to Grand Saline in 1994 where he was a member of Richland Heights Baptist Church. He served four years in the US Navy, was a member of Masonic Lodge #584 in Midlothian and was a truck driver for Tyler Refrigeration in Waxahachie. Henry was preceded in death by his father, Carl Thompson; mother, Juanita Leach; and two brothers-in-law, Steve Austin and Hoyt Phillips.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Paulette Thompson of Grand Saline; mother-in-law, Pauline Atchley of Grand Saline; three sons, Glenn Daniel “Dan” Thompson & Jim Phillips, of Costa Mesa, CA; Mike Thompson & wife Crystal of Norfolk, VA; and Robert Thompson & Chad Sims of Dallas; sister, Louise Phillips of Midlothian; brother-in-law, John ‘Eddie’ Austin of Waterford, CA; three grandchildren, Sarah, Megan and Caleb, all of Norfolk, VA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Bartley Funeral Home.
