Services for Wilma Rash, 88, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Pedersen officiating.
Interment will be in Haven of Memories, Canton.
Mrs. Rash passed away April 28, 2016, in Quitman. She was born August 29, 1927, in Colfax to Buel Franklin & Sarah Clota McNeil Edmonson. She spent most of her life in Colfax before moving to Grand Saline 34 years ago. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class; and was a charter member of the hand bell choir at FUMC. She worked at Ben Franklin 5 & Dime in Canton and was a secretary for Rash & Ritchie Feed Store. She was a housewife and loved to crochet, all kinds of hand sewing and dress making. Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, W. S. Mills; parents; three brothers, Buel Franklin Edmonson, Jr., Robbie Edmonson, and James Edmonson; and sister, Tamara Rhoades.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John T. Rash of Grand Saline; three daughters, Beverly Lowry of Grand Saline, Debbie Middleton and husband Wesley of Wichita Falls and Denise Shuttlesworth and husband Steve of Carthage; three step-daughters, Fran Castro and husband Mario of Sulphur Springs, Jan McLarty and husband Cam of Tyler and Ann Wright and husband Randy of Alba; sister, Minnie Kernohan and husband David of Grand Prairie; brother, Byron Edmonson of Mesquite; fourteen grandchildren, Keith Shuttlesworth, Kimberly Shuttlesworth, Samuel Middleton, Matthew Middleton, Libby Merrick and husband David, Christopher Lowry, Chris Trigger and wife Emily, Craig Stanford, Emma Stanford, Jessye Castro, Lindsey McLarty, Clint Wright and wife Nikki, Chad Wright and Lee Wright; eight great-grandchildren, John Reid Trigger, Benjamin Trigger, Sam Trigger, Jagger Wright, Pete Wright, Bailee Bishop, Cooper Christian and Harper Christian; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith Shuttlesworth, Samuel Middleton, Kimberly Shuttlesworth, Jessye Castro, Libby Merrick, David Merrick, Chris Trigger, Emily Trigger, Craig Stanford and Emma Stanford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pairs & Spares SS class.
Memorials may be made to FUMC of Grand Saline.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
