Obituary for Jack Allen Elmore

LONE OAK – A celebration of life service for the man who meant so much to others and was the Rock for his family, Jack Allen Elmore, 85, of Lone Oak will be Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Lone Oak Baptist Church, under direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home, Lone Oak, with Pastor Jeff Thompson and Pastor Robert Cook officiating.
Mr. Elmore went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 22, 2015, in a Greenville nursing home.
Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery.
Mr. Elmore was born June 16, 1930, in Lubbock, to the late Frank Dewey and Ethel Jones Elmore. He married Mattie Rado Woodson on December 2, 1950, in Greenville, and they had three children. Jack served as a police officer in Farmersville and Princeton. He ran several different businesses of his own, and then went to work at ESCO Inc. and retired from there. He served as a city council member in Lone Oak and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #307 for years. He was also a member of Eastern Star in Greenville and was a member of Pine Mills Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife of over 64 years, Mattie Elmore of Lone Oak; son and wife Richard and Vickie Elmore, and daughter and husband, Jackie Holloman and Larry Stone, all of Lone Oak, and daughter, Nova Joy Elmore of Bullard; two brothers, Johnny and wife Darlene Elmore of Greenville, and Jessie and wife Peggy Elmore of Caddo Mills; and sister, Frankie Elmore Price of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dewey Allen Elmore; sister, Lorene Eagleburger; and great-grandson, Tavion Allen Elmore.
