Obituary for Jack Carter Henson Sr.

JACK HENSON

Alba – Jack Carter Henson, Sr., 81 passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at his residence after a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday April 14, 2014 at Lake Fork Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Perry Crisp officiating.
Interment will follow in Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery, Emory, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10-11 a.m.
On April 14, 1932, in Rusk County, Jack was born to Opal Lee and Agnes Carter Henson. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Leta “Casey” Golleher on July 26, 1974, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They had been married 34 years at the time of her death on Febuary 20, 2009. Jack spent many years in the oil well drilling business, was a lifelong pilot, and after moving to Lake Fork in 1987 he owned and operated an on-site RV and trolling motor repair business. He was a member of the Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Jack Henson is survived by sons Lee Henson and wife Laura of Abilene, Carter Henson and wife Michelle of Missouri City, Edward Henson and wife Melissa of Plano; daughter Ann Butler Hicks and husband Billy of Tuscola; 12 grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Jerry Lee Henson.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Cole Henson, Michael Henson, Sean Henson, Gregory Henson, Mitchell Hicks, Marshall Henson, Tyler Henson, and Blake Henson.
Honorary pallbearers are Lexi Henson Alexander, Liz Henson Hutt, Ann Henson, and Kathryn Henson.
