ALBA – Services for Kenneth G. English, 67, of Alba, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Mr. Gerald Elliott officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. English passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his residence.
He was born November 10, 1945, in Borger, to the late Ervin Pratt and Esther Betsy Sherwood English. He moved to Alba at age 12 and had lived here 56 years. He graduated from Alba-Golden High School, served in the Army, and finished his career in the military in the National Guard Unit in Tyler. He married Frances Wood, November 12, 1966, in Lindale. He worked for Kelly Springfield for 13 years, the City of Alba Water Department, and Texas Walls in Alba, retiring at age 62. He loved his family, going camping, riding horses, going to chuck wagon races in Arkansas, and taking vacations. He was a member of Winnsboro Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Frances English of Alba; son, Scott A. English of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Phenney K. and Jerry Morman of Bullard; grandson, Christopher Isaiah Shane English of Alba; granddaughter, Tagen Miami Lee English of Alba; other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Shane English.
Pallbearers are Clint Costner, Steve Denman, Keith Rutledge, Jeremy Blaylock, Reggie Wood, Keith Nunn, and Dr. Karl G. Scheffrahn.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home 6-8 p.m.
